Mount Baker Vineyards 2005 Reserve Viognier

Published Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

Appellation: Yakima Valley

There’s a remarkable amout of acidity wrapped up in this Viognier from winemaker Randy Bonaventura, so it strikes a delicious balance to go with the juicy apple notes that hang there for the picking. Cinnamon, river rock, minerality and Juicy Fruit gum aromas join the orchard tones. Gorgeous flavors of citrus and apple crisp make this a particularly rich and appealing alternative to Chardonnay. Rated “Outstanding” by Wine Press Northwest magazine.

Price: $20.

Cases produced: 203 cases. Look for this in select wine shops or order directly from the winery.

Food matches: Enjoy this with a pasta primavera, grilled halibut or seared scallops.

Mount Baker Vineyards, 4298 Mount Baker Highway, Everson, WA 98247, 360-592-2300.
